3rd Missouri Infantry

The next event on the listed schedule is on August 14-15 in Pipestone Minnesota around 5 ½ hrs. out of Kansas City.  This is one of the best long running events with the event being held every 2 years.  The event site is very nice with great amenities for all who attend.  There are many period and modern sutlers and vendors.  There are a ton of day activities for reenactors and spectators to participate in from fashion shows, ladies teas, historical speakers, tin type photos, dance lessons and even Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln.  There are battles held on both Sat. and Sun. with a large # of spectators on site for battles.  Camp grounds are very well set with trees and open space.  Event staff provides all needed firewood, straw, water and ice for reenactors.  There is one of the best dances held in the town of Pipestone on Sat. night directly in front of town courthouse with a wonderful period band and dance caller.  Ask anyone who has attended event in the past and they will all say this is a great event for the whole family to attend.  The 4^th MO out of Springfield attends this event in force and our brothers in the 4^th ARK will also be attending this event in force.  I strongly recommend this event for anyone interested and would hope we could get a minimum of 10 members from the 3^rd.
